That's right. The new tax season is right around the corner. An election year usually brings a slight delay in the start of the tax filing season and this year was no exception. The IRS will officially open their doors on the 27th of January and the last day to file or request an extension will be the 15th of April, 2025.
For individuals requesting an extension, you will be granted 6 additional months to gather your paperwork, but keep in mind this does not stop interest and penalties from adding up so making a payment before the April 15 deadline is strongly recommended.
Our office will be officially open from Mondays to Fridays beginning at 11am to 8pm, and open Saturdays from 11am to 6pm effective 1/20/2025. We will be closed on Sundays. During the week scheduling an appointment is not necessary but is highly recommended, while Saturday appointments are mandatory. Walk-ins are welcome but on Saturdays you may be disappointed if there are longer than usual wait times.
It is also extremely important to note that if you are a business owner and have either an LLC, Corporation, or Partnership your deadline to file your business taxes comes on month earlier, March 15, 2025. Businesses can also request extensions to file which will push the deadline to September 15, 2025.
